Leading South Wales solicitors firm Peter Lynn and Partners has helped to fund covers for this week’s Swansea Cricket Festival that sees Glamorgan take on Sussex and Gloucestershire.
Along with St Helen’s Balconiers – the Glamorgan supporter’s club, Swansea Council and Swansea Cricket Club, PL&P have provided the funding for the covers for the wicket.
Not only has PL&P helped with the covers they are the principal Festival sponsor of the five days of cricket.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Festival for another year as we believe that it is important for a sporting hotbed such as Swansea to continue to have a first-class cricket presence in the city,” said Peter Lynn, Senior Partner at Peter Lynn and Partners.
“As well as sponsoring the whole festival we are also delighted to have helped provide the new covers. Let’s hope they do not have to be used! But if they do they are efficient enough that when the rain does stop, play will be able to restart as quickly as possible.”
John Williams, Chairman of the St Helen’s Balconiers, said he is very grateful to the support of PL&P, Swansea Council and Glamorgan CCC for the continued presence of first-class cricket in Swansea.
“The support of Peter Lynn and Partners especially is crucial in our bid to keep county cricket in Swansea. As a cricket lover Peter understands how important the Swansea Festival is to keeping a first-class presence in west wales.
“Having three covers of this quality helps us in what is a priority mission to continue Glamorgan’s presence in the second city.”
