Is Britain Still the Divorce Capital of the World?

Written by Sara Plant

Following the judgment of the Landmark case of 2000 White –v- White, there was a general perception that English Law is more generous to spouses than they are elsewhere.
However, the recent case of oil trader Michael Prest and his wife Yazmin may strip Britain of this title.
The case involved Judges powers to make orders against companies assets and it appeared that there is a conflict as to whether treating companies as separate legal entities would now be the norm where as previously, the Family Courts have allowed company assets to be stripped in divorce cases.
