PETER LYNN & PARTNERS SUPPORTS 4 MAJOR SHAKESPEARE PLAYS THROUGH FLUELLEN THEATRE COMPANY

Written by Peter Lynn

This year, people all over the world will be marking the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare with plays and stage performances, and Swansea based Fluellen Theatre are no different.
Fluellen, who are one of Wales’ more prolific producers of classical theatre, will present a year of celebration in 2016 with four major Shakespeare productions – a history, a comedy, a tragedy and his last play.
Each of these four productions, along with several other plays throughout the year, have been sponsored by Peter Lynn and Partners, a keen patron of the arts in Swansea.
Peter commented “We have been supporting Fluellen Theatre for a number of years and the caliber of their productions always astounds me. When we were approached to support the four plays to commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, the decision was easy”.
The four plays are Richard the Third (which ran in February), As You Like It, Macbeth and The Tempest.
Peter Richards, Director of Fluellen Theatre commented “Peter has been supporting our plays for a number of years and we are truly grateful for his generosity and patronage”
The latest play, As You Like It, is one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies in which the enchanting Rosalind falls in love with the single-minded Orlando. Involved in the play are a number of well-respected local actors including the much loved Kevin Johns who appears as Touchstone alongside his daughter Bethan who plays Rosalynd.
As You Like It, opens at the Swansea Grand Theatre on Wednesday 20th April and runs until Friday 22nd.
